Traditional Yoga & Meditation

The word “yoga” comes from the Sanskrit root “yuj”, which means “The Union” of Mind, Body and Soul. However, over the years Yoga has evolved to embrace a wide range of styles and disciplines.
The ultimate goal and destination of Yoga is liberation or Moksha. This liberation can be from physical ailments to mental hindrances, helping you cope in almost all of the aspects of life. Yoga is an art and science present for almost thousand years and still not all of its aspects are well known citing to its versatile dynamic application and vast nature.

For modern human life, yoga delivers the following benefits:

It improves your flexibility and muscle coordination thereby improving your posture and stamina. During first attempt in a class, you probably may not be able to touch your toes, never mind doing a backbend. But if you stick with it and have a will power, you’ll notice a gradual loosening, and eventually impossible poses will become possible (we also provide Props to make it easy). It builds muscle strength without using actual weights. Yoga lets you use your own body weight as your muscle training tool which you can gradually improvise day by day. This is contrary to the external weights which may build your strength but at the cost of flexibility. Better trained muscles can also protect from conditions like arthritis and back pain.

Yoga improves over all blood and oxygen circulation throughout the body. Twisting postures helps in outward circulation of venous blood and inflow of oxygenated blood to deeper tissues and organs. Inverted poses help in reversing the flow of blood to head and neck region and encourage venous blood to flow to heart for improved circulation. Inverted poses also help in minimizing swollen legs and providing a fresh glow and blush to your face. An overall improved blood circulation also means better hemoglobin levels and considerable reduction to risk of blood clot formation.
